What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

So often when one is having their own frustrations they really can't be bothered with how others feel. All they need is a listener, or someone/somewhere to vent and release them.

As a listener sometimes I would think to myself, "oh really, yea I've been through that." I know how sucky it is, but I know too that you will not die from it. As much as I care or wish for you to be well, sometimes I would still feel a little jealous. Not that I want to go back to those tough times but because I didn't have anyone to turn to back then or even now. I envy others for having someone they can be comfortable to pour their troubles to. I envy those who are always able to open up to people.

Advises are for people who will actually listen, but fact is people usually don't. We like to live in denial.
Sometimes I throw some advice to friends, or just ask them to go with their heart. But at the end of the day, you gotta help yourself. At the end of the day, you gotta believe that things will get better as time past.

My final advice? If it's hurting and there's nothing you can do about it, just bear with it, let time heal you. I'm not sure if it's the best, but that's what I do. Because 习惯就好, you will get used to it and won't see it as a big deal anymore in future.

Suck thumb and move on...
Because what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

Set it Free~

Before I used to dream and wish so often to go back in time to fix what I thought went wrong, just so you wouldn't leave. Eventually I came to the fact that even if we go back in time, nothing would really change. Your heart was never mine to own. I think and hope that I've truly learned to stop looking back, appreciate what I have now and keep looking forward. I may not be moving towards anywhere right now but I will someday, once I've set my path.

"If you let a bird go, it will come back to you if it truly loves you."

A Simple Question

Are you tired of hearing "I'm fine" from people you care for?
Well don't be.

*Just a random tip of the day. Also a note to remind myself.

There can be so much reasons behind "I'm fine". I'm going to use a 'She' here because I believe females tend to use it more, but of course it's the same for guys.
So you wonder, why does she keeps telling you she's fine? Why is she refusing to talk about it? Does she not trust you?

Well, reasons could be:

  • She's really fine
  • It's hurting too much
  • She doesn't know how to put them into words
  • She's too lazy to talk about it
  • She feels that you wouldn't understand
  • She's afraid of being judged
  • She thinks that you are asking just for the sake of asking
  • She doesn't want you to know
or maybe more other reasons.

So you've asked if she's okay so many times and always get the same answer back, and that probably annoys you.
But you know what? That simple question "Are you Okay?" actually make a difference, even when you always receive the same answer.

Admit guilty, I would usually be annoyed. Because bad temper here. & I truly wish I had and would have more patience with people whom I care for. Sometimes I am afraid to ask, reason being the fact that I suck at comforting people and also that I was afraid of not being able to help or make them feel better.

Anyway, truth is that the simple question makes that someone knows that you care. & it is actually very comforting to know that somebody care. So no matter how many times you get back the same "I'm fine", don't stop asking. Unless you stopped caring.

Are you Okay today?

Good Things Must Share

CHECK THESE OUT. Got lobang must share, so here.
Recently I was introduced by my colleagues to these two cost savings apps which I thought was really really worth sharing.

FYI, this is not a sponsored post. (I'm not such a big shot to get sponsors lol)

Turn on your location and GETdeals will show you which places have discounts on whichever cards that you own wherever you are.

Make it simpler by filtering what kind of deals you are interested in, GETdeals gives you the option to select your preferences at their settings page. For myself, I only selected Entertainment and F&B. So in case I have trouble deciding on what to eat, I can just go to GETdeals and see where I can have my meals at a discount.

We can also select the cards that we own and GETdeals will filter for us!
How nice right?

2. Sugar

This I supposed is quite similar to Groupon or other deal apps? I don't really browse those anymore though.
Anyway, Sugar lists out special discounts for certain dishes or whatever nearby you. You may have to check it out at different timings because the prices can fluctuate like stocks. lol

Just register an account and you will receive free S$5.00 credit.

I just redeemed the Cup of Kopi from Grasso Coffee this afternoon at S$0.40, before lunch time it was S$0.70!!
So I quickly grabbed the deal. Fastest fingers first, the deal was sold out very quickly and so my colleague failed to get it. The coffee wasn't for me though, got it for my manager. She had it previously at the original price of $1.40, so I excitedly told her I got it for 40cents!! & she was pretty shocked. Hahaha

Bought for myself their Signature Mocha without whipped cream.
(The sandwich is Pauline's to make the photo look better because my plastic cup looks too plain)
No discount for this because there wasn't any deal for this on Sugar. S$6.00

Went back to office and checked the app again, the original price S$2.00 Grasso sandwich which I saw was S$1.00 at Sugar minutes ago, became S$0.60! Bad thing about the app is that you can only purchase a deal from the same shop once every 14 days. So I couldn't grab the sandwich deal because I already got the coffee.

Oh well, told my colleagues to grab it quickly and so, one managed to get the deal and the other didn't because it was then sold out.

At Sugar, you can filter your preferences too!

If you used up your S$5.00 credit, you can top up with your credit card as well.
Or just register and use the S$5.00, its free anyway! Really worth trying :)

& by the way, Grasso sells really good and fresh coffee!!

省省省! Auntie-qi signing off.......

Happy Tummy

Hungry? Let me make you more hungry. Hahahahha~

Haven't update for awhile because well, no feel. Lol

Awhile back I met up with Iris & SP for dinner at Twins Korean Restaurant.

Probably everyone's favourite, Truffle Fries! Yumz

We went for fried chicken because I was craving and heard about this new restaurant from my colleague.
So ta-dah, Soy Garlic Chicken Wings!
Pretty good. If only we have a bigger stomach to try the original flavour too.
I WANT MORE

We also ordered this seafood soup noodle which tasted just like our typical prawn noodle.
It's not too bad, but just.. Prawn mee lor.

Well, there's always room for desserts right?
This Patbingsu is another heaven. Super smooth ice shavings just like the one I had in Korea.
BRAINFREEEEEZE

Another day I met with Lisi to get my policy documents and we had Tsukada Nojo for lunch.
Had it with mom & sis for dinner before. Apparently they only serve the Bijin Nabe (Beauty Collagen Hot Pot) in the evening.

So we ordered Bijin Men ( Beauty Collagen Noodle).
The soup is super super good!!!

Totemo oiishi desu~~~

We had their chicken wings as well but this was just soso.
Maybe because we didn't eat it right when it came so it was cold already that's why? idk.

& on Tuesday, I was expecting the arrival of my new phone.
I had requested previously for it to deliver to a POPStation near me and received an email saying that I will receive an SMS or Email with the pin to do my collection. They said I will receive between 2pm-6pm! So I happily thought I could go straight after work. But damn, I only got the SMS at 6:30pm, by then I was already home lah.

I'm the lazy kind who don't like to go out anymore once I got home.
Oh well, but I couldn't wait another day.

It was my first time using the POPStation. Pretty cool.

So I went around Aperia to look for this POPStation which I asked for them to send to.
Very easy, just press receive parcel instead of delivering it, then they will request for the pin and so you just key in and also in the SMS they will tell you which locker so you key in after.
& your parcel will just magically appear right below - Just open the locker at the bottom and ta-dah!
It works just like a vending machine.

Am I very sua-gu? I guess. Lol I was pretty amazed but I didn't show it because I was alone.
So embarassing hahahahahahah.

So because it was my first time at Aperia though my bus passed by it so many times before, I went around exploring it on my own.

There wasn't much there yet, many empty spaces.

Previously went with Jev after mignight for the 24hrs Tim Ho Wan there.
Only the signature char siew bun is edible. Like seriously........ I wouldn't go back there again.

Anyway, I chanced upon this Nature Cafe and happily told my vegetarian friends about it.

Went in and had their Black Pepper Udon. Pretty good.
They have quite a variety I didn't know which to try.

Look deep and you will understand better......

Finally, I made my decision to go back to iPhone. Hohoho
Afterall the reason I switched to Android previously was because of the freedom to customize my phone.
Played enough, back to simplicity now hahaha.
I have to admit though, Samsung is very attractive, VERY TEMPTING.

But I'm happy with my iPhone6 right now :)

Oh another big thing, I cast my very first vote for Singapore Elections!
Went in the afternoon and there wasn't any queue - yay!

Anyway, I am not interested in politics at all so shall not talk too much about it.
The election results was quite unexpected, but ugh whatever.

Met CL after the vote, bought 3 boxes of mooncakes for the family.
Probably my first time buying mooncakes. So many options!!! *Faint* I can't choose.
& then had to carry them around town while window shopping. My legs almost broke.

Treat myself to yummy Godiva ice cream. Because they looked so good whenever I see them on instagram!!!
& it's really good (duh!) $8 please @_@

So anyway, thank goodness my sister came to join us for dinner and I asked her to bring a pair of sandals from home.
The wedges I thought would be comfy was killing me.

Dinner was at Far East Saveur & we had their Signature Pasta, Duck Confit, and Truffle Mash.
So good! ^_^

Drama update - Other than the on-going 'On The Wings of Love' and '他看她的第2眼',

I have finished watching 'The Time We Were Not In Love'.

This is the korean version of '我可能不会爱你'.
I love the cast, but if we have to compare, I would prefer the Taiwan version which is more realistic
and also, I prefer the role Ariel Lin portrayed than how Ha Ji Won did.

I started a new one yesterday - 锦绣缘华丽冒险.
Watching because of 陈乔恩 again. First half of the show was very nice, until when both the lead got together it started to become super draggy. They threw in way too much flashbacks, really too much. Good that I watched it online so I can skip the flashback parts because they were really really long. Will probably lose patience if I'm watching on TV lol.

On a side note, haze season is back.
This seem to have become a yearly thing, Singapore now have three seasons... Sunny, Rain, and Haze.
Hais, Ottoke..??
